Thanks everyone. I still feel okay, I have moments. I just want to breath better. I feel sometimes more out of breath that before.

All this extra energy we are supposed to have. I know I am not the only one feeling this way. I am doing more and I feel great . However I am short of breath, and still can only dance for 1 or 2 songs with Ally.(We have dancepartys) I know babysteps. Its only been 3 weeks. I am sure I am rushing things, because well it took 20 yrs to do the damage. I just Want to know where it is. What stage did it come for some of you. It comes and goes for me Grace. It is like my lungs are going through phases of trying to clean themselves out. In the beginning I had a hard time taking in a full breath, but when I exercised I noticed I had more endurance. Then I was coughing up crud. Then that stopped and now it is back again. Then I was breathing really good, now I feel like I can't take really, really deep breaths again. And the brown crud is back. Be patient. Your body is trying to heal. Be happy about it. Be happy you are not continuing to destroy it with hot smoke, carcinogens and other toxins. Hang in there sister! Grace, Keep in mind your lungs are healing, if your shortness of breath continues, consult your doctor. If you'd like to try to improve your breathing a little quicker, you can start an exercise regiment. It can be anything that you think you can stick with and that gets you up and moving. Hope this helps. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Grace - one day you may feel drained, the next full of energy. But at the beginning of a quit, it's more tired than anything else. It's physically exhausting for some people when they quit (yep- like me). There were days I could have fallen asleep right at my desk. Exercise will help that, take brisk walks, or incorporate what you enjoy doing into your daily schedule. You will most likely find it gives you more energy and makes you feel better. Other than not smoking, feeling less sluggish was my goal at one month, it's still a very challenging time for quitters. You're doing fantastic (remind yourself of this EVERY day!) Stay strong and be proud. Hi, Grace. Congratulations on 3 awesome, smoke-free weeks. One more and you'll be dancing your one month celebration. I don't blame you one bit for being anxious to have all this over and done. We all have been there and felt that. It seems like you've been quit for months by now and things should be getting better by now. Not everybody feels energized after they quit. Some feel much more tired than in the past. It all depends on your individual chemistry. Keep up your dancing; it's great exercise. Maybe brisk walks will help, too. Breathe deep, too. Not just to kill a crave, but to stretch and exercise your lungs.
