Hi auntie, I actually remember you from years ago, too. I didn't make it. You did. It's stories like your that make my day. You shown that it's possible to quit smoking even if there are smokers surrounding you. Now I'd like to know more about walking six miles constantly? Six miles a week?

Congratulations auntie on  three years today!  They were going to have to snuff me out to get me to quit (this insane addiction)! Then I chose to become a non-smoker. My first Granddaughter was born on 3/30. She seems to like me to hold her. The last thing I want to be known as  is "stinky Gramps."
Keep up that great quit!

To all new quitters or those thinking about it; I want you to know that YOU CAN DO IT !!!!!!!
I was a die hard smoker; NEVER going to quit! I would go outside at 15 below zero to smoke, wind snow, rain, thunder, ice, sweltering heat, it didn't matter. I was going to Enjoy my smoke!
When the price got so high I had to chose between cigarettes and medication, I bought cigarettes!
When I finally decided that I needed to quit because I couldn't get to the mailbox and back without being out of breath, and my grandchildren didn't like the way I smelled so were hesitant to give me a hug. I made up my mind it was time. I used the nicotine patch and quit while living in a houseful of smokers. Desire and determination is the key. So if you are thinking of quitting DO IT. Best thing you can do. I now walk 6 miles regularly. There is nothing to compare with snuggling with my grandchildren!!!

My Milage:

My Quit Date: 7/22/2006
Smoke-Free Days: 1096
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 49,320
Amount Saved: $14,179.50
Life Gained:
Days: 150 Hrs: 21 Mins: 39 Seconds: 58
