mornings are the hardest

Wazz, Healer gave you the straight goods. Little by little the intensity of the craving will fade... until it's effectively gone. And it won't take long. It may seem like it some days, but before you know it... you'll be where you want to be. You're doing great!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 251 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,275 Amount Saved: $2,321.75 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 10 Mins: 57 Seconds: 30

Hey Wazz - day 9 and doing fine. It's funny what you learn along the way. I found out too that I also like tea a lot - in fact I am having a cup now. It has been my saviour. Mornings are what you make of them I guess. I used to smoke about 5 cigs before I left for work. Now, that's half an hour extra bed time ... and God knows I love my bed. It is one of my most favourite places in the whole wide world, now I get to spend 30 minutes more there! I've been watching your journey and I feel you are going to do it. You have a great attitude. Before you know it, you will be 100 days in and coaching "newbies" through their worst weeks. I'm halfway there now and it only seems like a blink that I was in "hell" week - time is so strange how it seems to drag and them, boom, months have passed. Keep strong, we are doing it day by day. yah its the whole wake up smoke with a coffee. I do it and so I quit coffee. Doing tea for awhile , lol turns out I like tea alot. Prob never drink coffee again. My routine hasnt changed, I wake up (not a morning person) and start the day. My life is routine only so much that can be changed. Wazz- It may or may not happen, BUT you will wake up with the clarity that you are no longer a smoker ~ now that is amazingly powerful! Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and try not to focus on the mornings/the thoughts of smoking as you are giving the addiction power when you do. I still think of taking a puff here and there BUT I also chuckle to myself whenever it happens and with a big smile on my face and in my soul ~ I remind myself I don't smoke anymore:) All quits are as different as we all are... the power is within you right now, today! When we first quit, we are simply more vulnerable than most *older* quitters... Kind of a simple analogy, but so true. So - you have the power now... Just hold on tight and do something first thing in the morning you love... and the thoughts will change, become softer at first ~ then you will move on from the intensity of wanting that smoke. Blessings sent! Wazz, Have you tried changing up your morning routine? Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Ive found that mornings for me are by far the hardest part of the day. Time seems to go by slower and the cravings are stronger. Luckily I have found the will power to avoid slipping. I hate the mornings but it does seem to be getting easier every day that passes. I am already dis-associating old habits from regular smoke free living. Well thats all I wanted to say for now, thx My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 198 Amount Saved: $53.46 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 40 Seconds: 1
