Hi Susie144...
It sounds to me that you are having a hard time today (Duh! Of course you are! ~ Sorry to be dense)!
Urges or "itches" to smoke only last for a few seconds to a few minutes. Believe it or not, the urge to smoke will pass whether you smoke or not. Try this to get through your "itch":
The "Three-Second Breathing" Exercise!
Nothing relaxes you more than taking a deep breath. Inhale deeply through pursed lips. Hold your breath for 3 seconds. Then slowly exhale through your mouth.
I am right about where you are on the quit meter. I get those feelings quite a bit too. Be stronger than the Nicodemon! You can defeat him! You control your life and your choices... Not that nasty demon!
Keep on keepin' on!! We are here for you! ;)
Stay Strong!!

Your going to think this is really pocket protector, white shirt with the slide rule hanging out stuff, but, I carry a stop watch around and when one of those hit, I measure its duration. You would be surprised to know that the average time is about 4 minutes...I'll bet you can beat 4 minutes every time...

Shortcake is right...those deep breaths will help within just a few seconds.
yeagh...you might have a lot of them, but just think of all those "Clean Breaths of AIR' INSTEAD OF SMOKE!
!!!!!!!!!!! Wha La....no more itch...for now
These will eventually go away, but it does take a little time.
Not to worry...it will get better and easier as every day passes.

Sorry to hear you're bugged. Glad to see you're mad. It's tough - you're tougher. Don't hesitate to pull in more coping mechanisms. You've done great so far. You may need to do a little something different. Protect you're quit. You're at a vital point. Fight to keep those stat.s.

Very good analogy......itch=crave. That certainly describes what it felt like to me as well.
Susie has 33 days!!!!! You have invested a lot of time and energy in this quit to allow a little 'itch' to get the best of you! Keep up the good work!

Susie,
Some members experience at bump in the road at the thirty day mark.
Get back to basics: employ the same distractions and coping strategies that got you through the first week.
This will pass and you will come out stronger.

It's like the worst sort of itch. You can't scratch. Musn't scratch! It also seems to be there like a little car alarm hooting in the distance. What I would give for an hour of peace from both. Go away.....just go away!

I call it the nag. How long does this part last, the nag part?
Susie you and I are just a few days apart. We must be on the same schedule.
A nag isn't like a crave, a nag doesn't hurt, it won't put you on the floor like a wicked right cross. It is just always there, sometimes a faint voice, sometimes a bit louder but it never goes away. Swat it like a fly and it will flit off to the corner, only to return buzzing around your head.
