Don't feel too bad about it. About four months ago I was going through a terrible time. I asked someone for a cig and sat on the curb in front of the shop having that cig and a glass of wine. It really did, honestly make me feel better. I went on from there and didn't do it again. Which is not to say that if confronted with the same awful situation I wouldn't do it again. You pick up and go on from there. Mace, I did the same thing about four days into my quit this time. I propably would have smoked the whole thing but my daughter caught me and looked at me and said "I am so disappointed in you" all I could say was "I am too". I guess it helped me though because I realized how committed I wanted to be to quitting and I was not giving up. Since you are still here, I assume you too are not giving up! No Biggie, so what....you messed up with one cigarette. Move on....brush your teeth and continue. You probably got no more nicotine than if you were in a smoked filled room. It's like a diet. Too many people ruin their quits over a couple of puffs ....like dieter's ruin their diets over one piece of cake. Now.... if you keep doing that....then you will ruin your quit. I know you won't do that. If you need us we're here. OH>>>>>>>>>>. make sure you think of something else to do the next time the same issue comes up. I'm not sure what challenge happend in your bad night....but it could happen again. Think of something else. Tea......music with earphones/headset on....anything. Mace Learn from it and move on. I'm happy that it was just a few puffs. Just don't take another one and you'll be fine. That's right, Mace, you can't go back & unsmoke it so just carry on now. Do you keep a quit journal? It might not be a bad idea, so you can record what's going on when you feel you might give in & how you're feeling. Good for you for getting right back on! WELL I MESSED UP AND HAD PART OF A CIG. THIS MORNING. YES I KNOW PART OF ONE IS AS BAD AND A PACK RIGHT NOW AND I CAN ONLY SAY THAT IT WAS PART OF IT BECAUSE I STARTED TO FEEL BAD RIGHT AWAY FROM IT. LIKE THE LIFE WAS DRAINING OUT OF ME. I HAVE BRUSHED MY TEETH OVER AND OVER TRYING TO GET THE TASTE OUT OF MY MOUTH. IT WAS A BAD NIGHT AND I JUST GAVE IN TO A VERY WEAK TIME THIS MORNING. SO NOW IT IS PICK MYSELF UP AND START OVER AGAIN.
