Kayla - don't know if this will help, but think how much worse you'd feel if you were still smoking?!? Hope you are feeling better soon. I'm sending some virtual chicken soup your way! Kayla, I had developed a cough and especially when I slept at night. The very day that I quit smoking, that cough went away. Now, in the last 5 days, I've developed a horrible sore throat. I can't remember what strep looks like but my tonsils are sore on the left side but what's really sore is down in my throat. I have a cough now but it's dry...really dry. I just started on a decongestant and have a doctor's appointment on Monday. Since I didn't have a cough at all until my throat became so sore, I'll bet your doctor is right about your cough as well. You should continue to follow up with him/her. It's so weird. I never had a sore throat at all while I smoked. Now I have a doozy and I know it's from the Oak pollinating here in Texas. I hope you get to feeling better. Sleeping under a vaporizer will help that cough and get rid of that congestion. Hi Kayla. I also started having a bad dry cough on day 38. I'm now on day 44. The dry cough seems to be worse in the morning for me. I don't cough much in the afternoon. If I'm still coughing monday, I will probably go see a doctor. Kayla, Please continue to work with your doctor. He/she is the best authority to determine the cause of your ongoing cough. We hope you feel better soon. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Kayla! Sorry to hear you're under the weather. I'd be agreeing with your Doc, its probably from the strep! Hope you feel better soon! You have a celebration coming ina few more days (40) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 47 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,194 Amount Saved: $495.85 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 18 Mins: 29 Seconds: 6

Just curious... I'm on antibiotics for strep throat and have one day left to finish it but I've developed a really bad dry cough that's about to break a rib or two.I wasn't sure if anyone else who quit smoking had this problem into their quit. I had a cough in the beginning and it went away now it's back and worse. My doc says it's from the strep. Even though I told him I quit smoking a month ago. I would appreciate any feedback. I'm not sure if this is part of quitting smoking or what. Quick note** welcome to all the new non smokers and all the advise from new and experienced quitters!!!Stay strong!!!!
