Iwin, You can expect to feel nicotine withdrawal symptoms after you quit smoking. However, they usually improve after the first three or four days, depending on your level of nicotine addiction. Each smoker has different withdrawal symptoms - yours will be unique. Although they may be unpleasant, they do pass. When you experience withdrawal symptoms, remind yourself that each symptom is a sign of recovery - your body is in the process of healing itself. Think of withdrawal symptoms as growing pains. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Melanie, Thanks I will do that. I have read that smoking could mask depression. Sometimes I think that we smoke because we are depressed and it makes us feel better. I am thinking of going on a anti depressant, but I am having a hard time with that idea. I am not a pill taking person because I always worry about the side effects. I guess I will see how it goes. Hi,3galeh I have heard you should not cut the patch either, but I went through the whole program already and have finished with the 7mg 2 weeks ago. So I figure it does not matter if I am not really getting 3.5mg at this point. If I am getting less that is even better and if I am getting more I am sure it is not anywhere near 7mg. I had the same cravings when I was on the program of 21, 14 and 7 anyway at some point. Yesterday I did not have one craving so I guess my body is getting used to not having much nicotine in it. My main problem right now is really just feeling depressed. Thanks for your concern. I just find it so odd that for the last couple of days I have been having a really hard time with cravings, and then today I have not had a problem at all. I have been cutting the patch and wearing 5.25mg the last two weeks so I expected to have some problems for a few days. Today I am wearing 3.50mg's and not having any trouble at all. I wish when the cravings went away they would stay away forever, but I am pretty sure they will keep popping up even after the nicotine is out of my system. I guess the main thing is I did not give in and I have not smoked. Wish I didn't feel so bummed out though. Thanks Lady, It is great to hear from someone who has been there. I don't usually complain very much in my posts. I try to be upbeat because I know that helps people more. I do not want to smoke but it is almost like I need a drug to replace smoking to make me feel better. When I am at work I am fine, but when I am home I just wish I could take a pill that would put me in la la land. Good thing I don't like to drink is all I can say. Iwin... a lot of quitters go through a time like this when they start getting close to 100 days. I know I did. Craving, depressed, bumming, not really feeling like doing anything, feeling really, really blah. Yep...been there, done that. Just know that it passes so you have to hang in there. Pretty soon now your quit is going to get so much easier and time is going to start to fly by. You have a great quit going there. Protect it at all costs and don't give it up for anything. We see a lot of quitters give up around the 100 day mark. Don't be one of them. Like you said... you just do not give in. LMAO Iwin... I know exactly what you mean! I don't drink either and I always wanted a magic pill to make me quit smoking. Early in my quit I actually hated to see the weekends come because they were always the harderst times to stay quit. As long as I was rolling through my typical week I was really too busy to pay junkie thinking a whole lot of though. Don't worry about posting whatever is on your mind. I use to whine constantly. I also kicked and scream and fought my quit every step of the way for the first 60 days. It wasn't until a while after I hit the beach that I started to calm down. So, in my opinion, you are doing GREAT! Keep it up. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 274 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,499 Amount Saved: $959 Life Gained: Days: 24 Hrs: 5 Mins: 38 Seconds: 34

I have read before that you shouldnt cut the patch in half. YOu dont know how much your getting, how much is in the half your wearing. That may be why your having cravings. Try to follow the directions closely, its much better if you do.
