Too funny I have visions of the movie Animal House in my head with the Devil on one shoulder and the Angel on the other shoulder. I pretty much tangle with that Devil every day to a certain degree. You are definately not alone out there Rosie. Keep hangin in there maybe your boss will get nicer as you get farther and farther away from that last smoke.
My wife was pretty much poring it on tonight as well, but I think allot of it was just my interpretation and a little bit of negativity thrown into the conversation by me. I do that to create an out for myself or an excuse to smoke. Didn't do it and even told her I don't care what you guys do I aint smokin.

he's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.............. :eg:
That little nagging voice in your head - he can knock everything else out until you just hear the same thing over and over again.....wantasmokewantasmokewantasmoke

He is evil. (or she, not to offend the gentlemen.....)But I'm glad to hear you were able to back yours into a tiny little room and lock the door.....
Being stressed is sooooooo hard right now, because our urge is to smoke. Probably more so when stressed, if you are anything like me. That was my coping mechanism.
You said "testing your willpower".....that's a good way of looking at it - a test - and YOU PASSED. Congrats! There will be more tests, many more, and most of them sneak up on you (can't study), but you can be prepared!
Awesome job, redrosie......... :) :)

Mo, a bumpis when you find an older post, and want to force it to the "top of the pile" so others can find it easily.
To do this, you hit "Reply to this discussion" on the post you want to bump, generally just saying "bumping for so-and-so" and then it moves it up to the top of the forum.......

I just got home from work and had a really stressful day. My boss's B. meter was set on high. Was so angry and yet had to internalize it all. The devil on my shoulder started trying to talk me into picking up smokes on the way home. " Come on, buy some, no one will know". Luckily, I was able to banish that evil monkey from my thoughts. Now I am so happy that I didn't give in. Do any of you have these deceitful thoughts in your mind? It sure does test your will power.redrosie

I guess I luck out in this department because I don't take no crap from my boss. He tried to tame me, but as I told him, I answer only to God. :)

Groovekitty, I've determined Ol' Nic is neither a he nor a she, but an IT. Like the Blob was an IT, or the Tingler was an IT (OK, showing my age here).
Junkie thoughts abound during the first several weeks of a quit. I'll bump "What was your funniest or oddest junkie thought?" in this forum for you.
