talk is therapy

hi well perhaps writing is therapy. if I tell someone I am depressed i face silence. no one knows what to say. i feel its my fault. i should think positive. sometimes my wifes starts to tell me her problems, for example. anyway one can someone actually say? I guess they could be empathetic. they can't really offer too much advice, i guess.
