Territorialism and the Kitchen

A friend remarked how I seemed to work in the kitchen by myself.  She grew up with sisters, and her parents, so I guess she knows the value of team work.
 
I've become a little bit of a control freak, with good reason, I think.  There's a lot going on, and I'm learning, and there's danger, including extreme temperatures and toxic fumes which would expose mom to discomfort.
 
I used to hear how others would be territorial, and now I know.
