I am so pleased for you, you have to tell me how you did it! I am ridiculously scared of most public places at the moment, nevermind sitting still while a stranger cuts my hair. I used to dye my hair blone and have about 3 inch dark roots showing plus hair that looks like i cut it myself with a knife and fork but i cant pluck up the courage to get it cut. It's my birthday next week and I really wanted to have it done by then so I could get a bit dressed up. You must feel so proud of yourself now you've taken the plunge, I understand totally how scary it can be. Most people dont even think twice about things like visiting a hairdresser so its great to talk to people who understand it being a daunting thing for some of us.
Sparra thats great!!! I am so happy for you!! I also fear going to the hairdresser at times....but i try to force myself hehe.
Keep up the great work!! ;)

HI efveryone, jsut wanted to tell you about my little success for my exposure work. I went to the hairdressers and got a hair cut!! I had been dreading it for about 3 weeks, but I built up the courage, prayed about, challenged my anticipatory anxiety and went in the shop. While there I distracted myself with conversation and after about 15 mins I was able to watch myself in the mirror and say "you're Ok"...while I was relieved to leave, I wasn't exhausted by the experience, it has don alot for my selfconfidence. I know that it takes time and that everyday is a struggle, but I have tried to take a one day at a time approach, sometimes one 1/2 hour at a time and it has worked for me.
I just want to encourage everyone to keep trying even when its hard.
take care
