I Need Help With Medications - Please

19 years ago 0 24 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi, After many years of being "anti-meds", I've decided that just maybe I might benefit from something. I have taken xanax, but that's been many moons ago. I have absolutely no clue what's out there now for anxiety and depression. I have read what others have said about them. Some rave how wonderful they are, while others stay "stay away". As some of you know by my other posts, I am having one heck of a time at home. And since I am the ONLY person in the home that can take care of EVERYTHING, I need something that doesn't take weeks to work. Something that's not going to make me worse for a while before it gets better. In my situation right now I can NOT afford to be worse. Right now I'm bad enough, but still functioning. Is there actually a medication out there that really helps without making you worse first? Or is it a lost cause? I am seeing a new doctor on Wednesday and would like to talk to her about some options. But I also know from past experiences from doctors, that some say, "Oh, you won't even notice taking this drug", when in fact it makes you a zombie. Thanks, Lorie
