I'm glad I can help! :) I know what you're going through. Whenever I get sick, all logic goes out the window and I panic. Even just a little sick. But, panicking always makes it worse so try to stay calm and keep telling yourself that you're going to be ok. The thought patterns you are having are going to make it better or worse. I know that with me, the more I think about some symptom, the more it happens and the worse it gets. The problems you are having right now are not life threatening because you have the meds you need to take care of it - you are going to be ok!! It will take a few days, but you will be ok! But remember positive thoughts. That's the key to getting through this! When you start feeling really bad, tell yourself that you know it's just heartburn from something you ate and it will go away. Or, the reason you're hurting so much is because of the infection but that it is going to be ok and you will get through it. Read the post that Ruby put on here today called "Tips" it's really good. Hang in there girl - you can get through this!! You are stronger than you feel - I absolutely promise!! ;)

Vickers, You always seem to know how to comfort me, I so look forward to your posts. I am trying to calm and relax myself, you made me feel better telling me that it is probably from my throat, I guess I am just a wreck with the UTI and now this bleeding episode, when I am phyically sick my panic always goes up, the antibotic seems to be helping the UTI, its very strong, that could be a factor too in my stomach upset it makes me tired. I guess I am just sick and have to recover. How are you doing? I hope you are well. I am going to try a hot bath and try to get some sleep tonight which I have not been getting. Your words advice and support are so soothing Vickers. Thank you and God bless you, Debbie.

Hey Debbie! How are you feeling? I have thrown up blood before. The doctor stuck a tube down my throat because I was having some other problems at the time with my stomach as well. He was a specialist of gastronomy and he told me that if you throw up blood it will either be an ulcer or a raw throat. He said that most times it is a raw throat. Don't worry about the blood I'm sure it's just from you throwing up so much acid, which has burnt your throat and made it raw. Because you said this only happens when you eat certain things, I definitely think it is some sort of acid reflux type thing. Be aware of what you eat that causes this and avoid it in the future. In the meantime, whenever my boys went to the doctors with a nasty tummy, they always say to eat the BRAT diet until they feel better. B - bananas, R - rice, A - applesauce, T - toast (BRAT) You don't have to stick to that particular diet, but basically it means you have got to eat mellow things for awhile so your stomach can heal. At least for a couple of days. Your body will heal if you let it. Don't worry about the urine tract infection. Just take your meds and it will go away. I've had many, many, many urine tract infections and the meds always take it away. You'll be ok! I'm surprised they didn't just give you penicillin - that's what they always gave me and it always worked really well. But, take what they give you and it will work also. I'm sorry you're having problems with your husband. It's so hard to get them to understand sometimes! I know it's hard to let go of money you don't have, but remember that your health is far more important than that money could -ever- be!! A urinary tract infection won't get better on it's own. You had to go to the doctor. Emergencies happen - that's just life! It's not like you wanted this to happen. Don't feel guilty for it!!

I looked this up, this can happen. Your nurse is right. I came across this several times, its the most common reason for blood in vomit.

If anyone has ever vomited hard and noticed blood streaks please let me know. My nurse said it can happen and not dangerous, last night I had severe hot acid come up my throat and I foolishly stuck my finger down to "get it out" I hope I have not hurt myself, I will never do that again. If anyone can help I would be grateful, I guess I want to know if its happened to anyone and they are alright. God bless, Debbie.
