Haaving a lot of trouble

i have a problem with symptom shifting, but for a very long time now, i have had the derealization problem. i call it the living ina dream feeling. it is very scary and like you i also get really depressed when its at its worst. my first serious panic attack was while i was smoking weed. i strongly advise not to smoke it if derealization is one of your problems, because weed gives you that numb dreamy feeling and for me that is what i fear . not to mention weed increasing your awareness of your own thoughts. i know how scary that feeling is and to be honest i havent figured out excactly what to do to make it go away, im not familiar with that med, but talking to my family while its happening kind of grounds me back to reality.

Hey Matt I cant help you out about the meds, but the derealization I am very familiar with, it comes basically from fatigue, constantly trying to cope with strange feelings and thoughts, added to the normal stress of daily life you basically run down the battery that powers your brain (thats how I think about it) So to try to recharge the battery you feel sort of "out of it" disconnected from reality until your battery has time to recharge. Its a very strange and uncomfortable feeling, I hate when I have it. Not getting a good nights sleep for several days can also make me feel this way. Glad the meds helped you and hope your better now.

I've been having a lot of trouble lately with derealization. I've had it constantly for about two years, but it's recently become unbearable. Two weeks ago, on my spring break from college, i had a bad experience with marijuana, and i lost all feeling of reality. For about a week after that i felt depressed, with worse derealization symptoms. Not much happened, and i was feeling better, and then i went back to college. One night trying to go to sleep, i suddenly got that "losing reality" feeling, and i got up and i still had it, so i called my parents and they calmed me down, and i went back to sleep. The next day, i felt like i felt the day after my bad drug experience: very depressed, worse derealization. And then, suddenly when i was with my friends, i got that losing reality feeling again. It went away slowly, but today I have been having a really hard time going out of my room bvecause when i do, i get that feeling and it's unbearable. It feels like I'm going crazy. So i went to the doctor and he said i didnt have a fever, and he gave me lorazepam and i think it worked well. If anyone else has had an experience like this, or knows anything about lorazepam, please respond. Responses would be really helpful
