Outlaw, Yes anxiety will affect your BP state! Even white coat although your truly not afraid of the doctor its more like being there. And you also had truly a big drop on the second reading, that tells you right there it is not sustained consistant HBP. I also went through the same thing as you, elevated readings at his office, semi panicked and normal BP readings at home when relaxed. Its the normal fight response to our bodies under anxiety. Please go on about your day as usual, it took me 4 months to break a habit of obsessing over my BP, and complusively taking it, I also got in a habit of ut oh its elevated and backed out of going somewhere. Doctor finally told me my obession with my BP was worse than normal stress and demanded from my husband to take away my monitor if I took it more than 2-3 times a day, and you know what? After that first week, my numbers declined further, I had desensitized myself from it. The doctor was right.

Hi im posting again within the last week my blood pressure has gone up,its always been very low.the last week its been elevated,etc.ive had anxiety 5 years now i take xanax 4 .5 times a day..im so scared about this i cant tell if this is all from the anxiety or im getting high blood pressure im 25 thin and pretty healthy..i went to dr today it was 132/100,and my pulse was like 96,i was having anxiety attack right than..they took it again and it was 140/70,im usually really low..like 105/65,i dont get if i should be worried the dr,said im healthy she listened to my heart and told me to come back in 2 weeks if im still bothered by it..the thing is im also a hypochondriac can please someone help me here,and give me what they think???latley its been 135/85,sometimes higher,and most of the time normal,but im scared here im developing high blood pressure or its my heart..i dont even want to leave the house now im scared,anybody know if blood pressure can be affected by anxiety even if your not feeling the attack,or should i just chill..thank you people....
