No medication

Michael, I have been having panic attacks for about 3 years. I have actually been doing really well lately. These past 2 weeks have been rather tough though. I believe in mind over matter. I play the "what if" gave and my mind manifests these attacks. I know if I can get my thoughts to a more positive place I will be better off. It helps having other people to talk to who know how you feel. If you would like an e-mail buddy let me know.

Hi, I have been sufferring from panic attacks for 2 years. I too have Xanax, but, I use it as a very, very, LAST resort. Ironically, I had my worst panic attack yet this morning. I had to call 911. It was interesting to see them check my vitals and tell me everything was normal...my heart rate wasn't even elevated, yet, I felt like it was racing. My chest muscles were twitching, my finger nails turned as blue as the border on this website. The technician said my adrenaline had kicked in and that's why I was twitching so. Oddly enough I still coached my son's football team this afternoon with no problems. This problem is sooooooooooooooooo frustrating!!!!

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone out there is NOT taking medication for panic attacks and how that is going. I have panic disorder and do not take any medication. I have Xanax in case it gets really bed, but haven't had to take it. I can usually talk myself through the attacks. I am seeing a therapist who is going to teach me some more relaxation techniques. I currently do deep breathing exercises and have a relaxation tape I listen to.
