Agoraphobic symptoms

21 years ago 0 38 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hello Susan, Yes, like yourself and Danielle, I get the same symptoms. It can be very frustrating because it comes out of the blue. As Danielle says, think of all that adrenalin shooting around your body - it's no wonder we feel drained and "ill" afterwards, is it? The best, but hardest, thing I try to do is say to myself "Ah well - that was another episode" and then just let my body and mind relax for as long as it takes to feel "normal" again. I try not to get angry at myself or the agoraphobia any more because that just heightens my anxiety. Keep going Susan, you'll get there I'm sure. Wendy xxxx

Hi Susan, I often feel very WIPED for a while after a bad episode as well. A lot of energy is consumed in the flight or fight response. Be gentle on yourself and perservere. It'll get better. Danielle :-)

Does this happen to everyone or just me. I try to be really positive and optimistic and try to sweep away any horrible feelings I get But I've learnt over time that even if I do that, I will feel "off colour" for the next day or two. For example, yesterday I was feeling really good and then I went out and wham! I got a horrible feeling sweep over me. I kept with it and when I got home I felt really unsteady and nervy for the rest of the day. Today I feel quite anxious and off colour. I feel like I just want to sleep. I hate all of this. Its like something is trying to punish me for feeling okay originally.
