First of all, worry causes anxiety and anxiety causes stress and as a result that's making your stomach churn more acid. I know that you already know that, but to hear it from someone else just may help you. Do you have a health clinic that you can go to? You should be able to qualify since you don't have health insurance, I know that they're a pain in the butt to go to, but well worth it. You do need to talk about what you're going through. Holding it in only causes more stress. Aare you keeping a journal to write your thoughts? That will help. Also, you need to be doing self-talk and positive affirmations. Do research on the web, read as much as you can about anxiety and positive affirmations. We have to get out of the rut of negative thinking and change it back to healthy positive thinking. I used to complain that it was so hard to have to self talk and use affirmations, it was a continuous effort and I must admit very tiresome...I'm really doing better and don't have to concentrate as much on my self talk like I used to. What self talk and positive affirmations do is put the positive and healthy thoughts into your conscious and your subconcious soaks it in. Learn relaxation and meditation techniques. They honestly do help lower anxiety and in turn will reduce your stomach acid and heartburn. Hope some of this will help you. We all must remember that we can only help ourselves. We are doing this to ourselves and we can make ourselves better! Cecilia

Hey there outlaw, how is it going today? I am not an expert on the GERD subject so i will just let you know what i know about heartburn. Do you eat a lot of milk or milk products, cause my doc says that just because you get a bit of relief at the start from eating milk products it in fact causes the heartburn to be worse. Are there any foods that cause you more heartburn than others. Cause for me salt and sugar really bring it on... I know that i am not being much help, but just thought i'd write to let you know that we do care... hope you are OK ;) Jacqueline

The Xanax should be giving you some relief with the anxiety - how much of that are you taking? As far as the GERD, they are coming out with Prilosec over the counter in September - that might help you too.....Take care
