Health Concerns..

Carmie and Debora....

Thanks for the friendship and support..It really means a lot to me..

Carmie,
I plan on getting out there and exercising real soon..I may not pass you up on the track but you know what the say about the tortoise and the hare...Slow and steady wins the race.. lol lol

Debora,
Thanks for the tip on ear infections. I will remember it next time I have one..I don't have a infection this time..What I have is some debris in my inner ears tubes..They describe them as little rocks that get dislodged and move around in your ear and this causes you to become very dizzy and feel like the room is spinning around real fast..Which makes you feel sick to your stomach and makes it hard to stand without falling down..Anyway the exercises they have you do laying down on the bed..
If you are interested or if you ever have vertigo you can type the word "vertigo exercises" on your computer and do a search and find all about them on line...Also thanks for sharing your husbands experience with beta-blockers it's good to know it won't take me long to adjust to them...

Well I'll talk to you two girls later..
Good night..

Hi Red,

I am SO glad I was right! For a change I was right, I am glad its only you're ear, I had that feeling, I wrote Hugs a post about a little peroxide in the ear, it feels so good and warm and drains the infection, if you want too read it its on the "panicky post".

My husband has been on beta-blockers for several years and does well, the only side effect he said was a little tiredness the first couple days while his body adjusted then it went away, just a little fatigue, you sound like you have a great doctor and I am glad, I wish I did! He took really good care of you. Carmie had a great idea about the exercises, I dont know too much about that, the peroxide helps me and I have been doing it for my son for years and years, it wont hurt you. Let me know how you are.

Hi Red:

I'm glad to know that their is something that will help with the vertigo.  My mom once had to do special exercises to regulate some pressure in her ear.  I hope they will work quickly.

Sorry to hear that you will be on medication for your blood pressure but thankfully it will help to take good care of you.

You sound very positive about everything and I hope that you will get better really soon,

Carmie

Hi Everyone..
First off I want to thank you all for your support and concern..It means a lot to me. Now I will give you a little update.
I am home from the Dr appt for the vertigo..He gave me some exercises to do for the vertigo it is believed to be caused by a inner ear problem..The exercises are supposed to make it go away faster.

The good new is the numbness and headaches were not mini strokes..The bad new is that my uncontrolled blood pressure is causing damage to my heart and arteries...The doctor said that following a healthy diet and exercise was good but it was to late for that now and that I needed to start taking beta-blocker blood pressure meds to help prevent me from having a heart attack or stroke..So tonight I will take my first dose..after 30 days my body should have had a chance to adjust to the meds and I will see the doctor again..So for now I will have to rest and than I may be able to start my exercise program again..So on doctors orders I will not be climbing any hills or doing any hard yard work...I thought I could control this with diet and exercise only, but have now accepted the fact that I will need to take medication if I was to be here on this earth for a while..
Another piece of good news is the tree trimmer is coming tomorrow to finish the job he started on my tree last week and will be taking out the tree roots he left from the tree..I am so glad I didn't drop dead while I was trying to dig up those tree roots and that I asserted myself and told him he needed to finish the job he started.  I guess I am going to have to learn to assert myself a lot more from now on thats for sure...

Accepting my limitations and stopping myself is going to be the hard part for me..

Hi Red,

I had to comment! I had the exact same thing a few months ago and it turned out to be an ear ache. I hope yours is something easily treatable like that. I know it can be really scary when you stand up and it feels like the floor is going to jump up and hit you in the face!

Let us know what it turns out to be.

Take care,

Hi Red,

You sound a little better and that is good! I have calmed down somewhat, just a bad stomachache right now, I did not eat too much tonight and not too healthy, but truth be told I think I would rather have the stomachache than missed heat beats, both are scary but the stomach less so, too bad ALL of them cannot lift, that is my goal. Today was upsetting, tommorow will be better.

Please let me know what the Doctor said. I am sure you will be fine, I have prayed for you and I totally understand the tricks anxiety plays on a person, sometimes even at rest or calm I will have bad thought or symptom, I guess it takes time for the nervous system too calm down. Does you're ear hurt? When I read you're post I had a thought about the inner ear for some reason, which is not dangerous of course, ask the Doctor to check you're ears, that happened with me one time and my son. Wishing us both a better tommorow!!

Debora,
Thanks for the concern and understanding..I don't think this is panic..It is mainly anxiety about the situation I find myself in and of course the not knowing..Having to reach out for help is very hard for me to do...
I know what you mean about the heart palps and the skipped beats they are hard to take. I used to have them all the time and it went on for a few years..That was before I started doing the CBT here. It has really helped on that front..I still get them sometimes but it subsides after a couple of days Keep working at challenging those anxious and negative thoughts and I think you will see improvement..It just takes time..I know it can seem like forever when you are in it but I think you are on the right track with the idea of getting a little something eat and trying to relax for the evening..

Hello Vincenza...
Thanks for the support and for reminding me about the deep breathing techniques here on the site..Sometimes we forget to do the obvious in times like these..I am anxious about the Dr appt. tomarrow but also glad I took control of the situation and reached out for help. Things should calm down once I know what I am dealing with and how to treat it...I'll let you know how it comes out as soon as I know something..Thanks for being here, it means a lot to me and has helped me to calm down already..I am really glad  that I was able to reach out tonight and that you were here to guide me and take my hand...

Hi Red,

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well lately!  Health concerns are frequently a cause for anxiety.
What is important is that you are taking control by seeing your doctor tomorrow and hopefully he/she can help ease the headaches and find the cause of your vertigo.

No matter when or why you feel anxious, remember an easy and effective tool to use is deep breathing techniques.  This will help you calm your mind and help you to relax.

Let us know how your appointment goes.

Thinking of you,

Hi Red,

Yes I so understand what you are going through. I am glad you are going to the doctor, I am sure its anxiety but its good too check it out, you are smart too do that just for you're own peace of mind, I am scared to go too Doctor's, its good you go.

Could you maybe have an ear infection? I have read that can cause vertigo and balance problems, that has happened to me and my son, an antibotic will clear it right up. I am having bad symptoms today too Red, heart palps, chest and arm pain, I think its due to two upsetting situations that arose back too back today, I posted about it on another site, the skipped heart beats are scaring me today, I just took a pill and going to do some breathing and pray, and then try too eat, I have not eaten all day, hopefully it will go away! I wanted to tell you I do understand Red, I hope and pray we both feel better very soon.

I have been having vertigo and headaches which have kept me stuck in the house for the last 3 days. I am having a hard time keeping my balance due to the spinning plus some numbness on the right side of my face..I made a appointment with my for doctor tomorrow to rule out anything serious and see if he can help me with the vertigo and headaches...

Does anyone else have health concerns that cause them to become anxious??

If you don't see me posting it's just because I am taking a little break until I get better...

Take care everyone..
Red....
