Reptitive Thought : I cant look into peoples eyes

13 years ago 0 1 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi, I have one specific thought that is a recurring thought. Basically my mind is telling me "you cant look into peoples eyes" effectively. Obviously this makes things difficult in social situations. However , this only happens with friends, not so much family. It also occurs often with people of the opposite sex. Ive had this thought for around 18 months, I managed to forget about it for a period of 3/4 months because i had a relationship but after that stopped, the thought came back. When I talk to friends the thought runs through my head and its almost as if im fighting it, i do manage to maintain eye contact but it can be uncomfortable. Its worse where I sit down for dinner with them or sit across a table. Do you have any advice

Already Tried:

I have read paul mckenna change your life in 7 days, which did have an impact. I have also got paul mckenna's confidence app. I am not very confident when it comes to the opposite sex so I thought a confidence boost might help.

How can i get rid of this ridiculous thought, if i did i think i would have no problem confidence wise
