The length of a panic attack

Jane, During a panic attack, your body' fight or flight response is engaged. This produces many changes in your physical functionning; increased heart rate, increased respiration... It may take your body some time to re-adjust after an attack. Be sure to mention your symptoms at your next doctor' visit to rule out anything medical. I've read that a typical attack lasts from 5 - 25 minutes, but for some reason for me, after the initial attack, I get a sort of cotton-headed 'hangover' feeling that lasts for hours afterward. Does anybody else experience this/understand what it is?
