My parents are serious people. They care a lot and worry a lot too. My sister is the one who was alway worry some and very protective of me, until she had anxiety and I had anxiety. I was always the care-free one but once I got married and had many different situations from there I became a worry bug too, or maybe that's when I realized I may have always been worry bug. Anyways, welcome to this site. It has helped me a lot and I hope it does for you. I don't have children yet, but there are a lot of mothers here so I hope you can find some answers.
Hello April , i never had over protective parents but sure did get worse since having children myself . I have had 5 , my boys are older 20, 17 & 14 . I have two girls 9 & 6 . I constantly worry sometimes more than others .
This is a very interesting theory. Members, does anybody have any experience with overprotective parents? If so, do you find that it contributes to your panic or anxiety? If not, do you have a theory on what does?
Hi there, I have 2 kids age 3 and 6 and on again off again panic attacks, I have had them all my life but they seem to have gotten worse as my kids have gotten older as I often worry about them, and can't seem to stop. I come from a very overprotective set of parents and wonder if this has something to do with a lot of my problems. This week was a little tough, my sister is going through a divorce and very distressed and I take on that stress too worrying about her. And then a good friend of mine, her ex husband passed away. So I just felt really anxious this morning and found this website somehow and joined up. Does anyone else find that overprotective parenting from when they were young contributes to their anxiety and panic? Am I right to assume this?
