Day 6

Freedom, I completely understand the bad sleep and foggy feeling but it will past and when it does you will feel much better and be able to deal with the other issues that are taking place around you.  I have just completed my 4th week of being alcohol free, my intention was 2 weeks then I decided to try a month.  Now that I am days away from being "allowed" to drink I am unsure if I will, that is how much better I feel and you will too if you just hang in there!  Also, as you pray for strength read Psalm 37:23-24.

Well day 11 and still sober. Physical withdrawal is much better but emotional, bad sleep and foggy. I am exersizing and staying busy but overeating. I am letting myself deal and focusing on not drinking. My husband and I are distant and not spending time together he is either working or drinking. Kinda hard on me emotionally but trying to focus on staying sober one day at a time. Really don't want to drink afraid. Plan on AA meeting this weekend my husband will be drinking football drafts all weekend. Ugh I want to be away this weekend. But I really am seeing how alcohol changes who he is when drinking and not. Kinda like my new Revelations and strength. Been reading and staying busy. My fear is after my goal of 30 days going back to drinking. Think I may change my goal not sure yet. I am trying to walk through all opening doors and closing others. Just proud 11 days that's the most in years. Glad physical wdrawls are over. Now time to work on emotional mental and spiritual oh I need a good sober friend. Praying for strength insight and good sleep! Feels good to get this all out even if I sound scattered I am!  God's will be done! Please continue to lead me. And hear my prayers. Keep me sober from Alcohol!

Thank you foxman and Ashley. I am trying to make some goals during my new journey something I haven't done in awhile w my poor self-esteem. I am using the calander in tools on this website love it like a little diary no one can read but me! Anyways Dr And women's closed AA meeting next week is one. I had to take a sleeping pill last night or I was going to go insane so after I posted I first check my blood pressure I have a machine at home it was good then went to bed. Sleep like a baby. Woke without a hangover a little foggy but it beats the hell out if a hangover! Wish I have come very accustom too. Yuck!

Hi Freedom,

Congrats on day 7 now! If you’re having symptoms such as trembling or sweating you should see a health care professional immediately. These symptoms could lead to convulsions or hallucinations, the most severe effects of alcohol withdrawal.Even if you just consult with a doctor it might is a good idea. Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous. How are you feeling today?

Try to go to a f2f AA meeting, you will meeting many people who have been in your situation but now found a solution. You will be at peace just knowing that they are there for you. I know, its big leap of faith but once you take that initial step, life will change. With lot of trepidation I stepped into an AA meeting 9 years ago but it was the best decision I ever made.

Ok day 6 and I am feeling shaky heart pounding weird. When will w drawls end? !My husband has been drinking not helping but he being an ass helps remind me one big reason I am also quiting no more fighting. I am proud I am staying sober but just don't like the way I feel. Time to deep breath and read some other posts. Up and down I guess this is expected. Just venting feels a little better. Ugh! I want to be free from addiction so bad one minute at a time!
