Me,

Good for you for keeping busy and acknowledging your victories!

Try journaling as well!  It is very therapeutic and can help you realize your triggers and emotions, by going back and reading what you wrote.

Excellent success with 11 days!

Also try stocking the cupboards and fridge with good snacks and meals.  If you are eating a lot, then it helps if you are eating well!

Im doing well now after slipping last friday,  I havent had a drink for three days. The cravings are still there but hopefully in time they will go away, I just have to worry about today. Im keeping really busy which always seems to make not drinking easier.

checking in. 11 days sober.

I had cravings now and then today - I am keeping busy. I say thank you to myself everytime I get thru a craving  just to acknowledge that I had a small victory. I hope to build on them - I am still worried about the future so I am trying to remember the number of cravings - (maybe I should count them) - If I get a bad craving that lasts a long time then I can remember the times I got over other cravings and that might give me the courage/power not to submit. I guess we will see. The action would be to read my posts.

I am tired and eating a lot of food.

mom5,

You are now more aware of your triggers, so use this information to help guide you!  Be ready for triggers and avoid situations that will tempt you.  Start fresh and write down some coping mechanisms and activities to always have near by.

Thanks for being honest.

Ya, i'm not doing so great either. After 2 months sober I went to Mesquite, NV. Gambling, drinking and smoking going on everywhere around me. I failed myself miserably, almost back to square 1. But this time people in my life are tired of hearing sorry. I need to change my actions.

Hi Snaphu,

Take a deep breath. Know that there will be times like this and they will pass. When you get threw them you will be stronger from it and better equiped to deal with cravings when they come again.  Do what you have to do to get threw it.  Take it one minute, one hour, one day at a time.

What will it take for you to cope this minute?

How are you doing?

Are you having a hard time?
How are you coping?
What triggered it?

Take the time to post how you are doing, even if it is not positive. We learn from one another and the members may be able to give you some support and advice to help you through.

Prepare for those tough times and learn from the previous ones.  You have the pieces to complete the puzzle, let us work together to finish it.
