Changing your relationship with alcohol

thanks hors controle... it does help to hear from you.  Not doing so great.  I've still managed to drink about 1/2 the usual amount but really struggling and feeling somewhat disgusted with myself because I had wanted to completely stop for awhile. But you are right... at least i'm still here haven't completely given up yet.  May need to just shutup and listen for a while & not post so much.  I really thought I was ready to do this.  Maybe need to work on building better home support?

Hi m

don't feel bad about it and think that you are back to square one. You are not and I can feel you are progressing, you are making an effort.

Keep up the good work, the reward will come by itself

I did walk the dogs Sunday morning which was a minor victory since I haven't walked in a long while.  Then Sunday night I guess I decided to reward myself with a glass of wine This morning I went back to the toolbox and worked through the rewards section... unbelievably hard to come up with alternative rewards.  Another eye opener.  This shouldn't be so tough.

the weirdest thing ... changing my relationship with alcohol has even changed my relationship with my beagle!  After she finished her dinner, she grabbed an old toy and came to me wanting to play.... and I did... and it was fun... I can't remember the last time I played with her.  It has certainly been a while.  Maybe tomorrow I will have the energy to walk the dogs.  They would be soooooooooo happy!

Hi Ray,  Thank you for the welcome!  I have read through many of your posts and am impressed with your kindness, enthusiasm and knowledge.  I sort of feel like I know you already and it is very nice to "talk" with  you directly.  I'm glad you like the beagle puppy.  It's not mine... but could be if I were a better photography. Ha.  My little beagle is getting up there in age but she looked just like this guy when she was little.  I have a soft spot for hounds of all kinds.  Those ears are hard to resist.

Hello mapuan,

I'm ray and I have been a member for about 1 year. First of all I would just like to say welcome (although I'm a little late) and know that I support you in your goals and aspirations. I find your puppy photo incredibly cute! He makes me feel all fuzzy inside!

Is he yours?

Ray

Yay Mapuan!  2 (now 3) with no alcohol!  Good work--and work it is, right?!
I hear you about feeling sort of sick.  I have been feeling better, but yet still sort of sick.
I am glad that you are taking the reigns, so to speak.
I know we can do it:)
