Myth or Fact

FourStrings, a bottle of wine each is quite a bit! I think it's a problem (well at least for me, not sure about anyone else out there) but for me I realized drinking was a problem, when I didn't feel normal wtihout it...

also Samantha, sometimes people adon't say anything about your drinking,s ince you can be so good at hiding it. But, I agree if those around were more supportive and encouraging it would be easier to deal wtiht it.

Lots of  friends told me I drink too much, or more than I should. Only, it's always after the fact. The one's I drink with don't tell me that when we're sharing a beer or a glass of wine (after another...). They always offer me another one unless I've really drank too much. They've insisted several times that I stay over or call a cab, to their credit. At my age, I always follow that advice. Wasn't always the case, though....

I was at a business lunch where my vis à vis told me he drinks a bottle of wine every night with his wife. Isn't that more than recommended? Never crossed my mind to tell him.

Myth: It’s none of my business if a friend is drinking too much.

Fact: If you’re a real friend, it is your business. You can’t make them change, but you can be honest. Who knows? Maybe they’ll listen. You might even be able to help them decide to get help.
