What has anxiety taken from you..

What has panic taken from me? Wow, this could be totally theraputic (sp?). Okay, it took away my first marriage, which happened to be a blessing in disguise actually. My ex couldn't cope with the fact that I had panic. He felt I was crazy or totally lacking in willpower. Time went on, I recovered from agoraphobia and met a wonderful man whom I married after 3 years. We went on to have 2 more boys and one on the way and I can say I'm way happier now then I was 6-7 years ago. He is very understanding and supportive. Never throws my panic in my face or uses it as a weapon against me. My ex still uses it as a weapon whenever we have a child visitation or child support dispute. I have custody of our child from my first marriage but whenever things don't go his way, he threatens to use my "psychological problems" against me. When I see posts such as Outlaw's or Sue's, I just want to hug you and tell you I understand. Been there, done that, still do it sometimes. I can completely understand exactly what you're going through.

What has anxiety taken from me? Short answer: my life. I have no life now. I used to have a sorry excuse for a life, but now I don't even have that. I've been in self-imposed house arrest for five years now. No money left, no husband, no nothing. Wearing the same old clothes I've had for years. Depending on my parents for food and shelter. No government assistance to at least pay bills or pay for medical care, so I can't see a doctor and can't get help. Embarrassed to go to family functions even if I could leave the house because somebody would ask me what's new and I'd have no answer, and because I'd be getting those pathetic looks and unsolicited advice from everyone. Embarrassed to be seen outside because of my shabby, outdated clothes. I'm just feeling sorry for myself because today is the 5th anniversary of the breakdown that left me in this agoraphobic state. Thanks for giving me the place to vent, Outlaw, whether or not that was your intention. I'll feel better tomorrow.

Cat, are you saying if we pray then God will take away our panic and anxiety?

you have too much stress, sweetie, anyone with all these worries would be feeling as you do; in other words, you are acting perfectly normal in light of your circumstances. Pray a lot, God can change things! Cathie
