Day 9 & feeling frustrated & a bit angry. I'm doing well when the normal cravings come. I'm having a hard time dealing with my feelings without smoking. It used to be so easy, I'd get upset over something, have a smoke & feel better. So now, today this dog in my apartment complex was crying & howling for a long time & to say the least really getting on my nerves. I closed the window & turned up the tv and came in here to vent about it. My hearts still racing but starting to calm down & my stomachs in knots. My head keeps telling me things like,,,smoking 3 cig's a day really isn't that bad & just take the easy way and go buy a pack and it will feel so good to stop all this hard work of quitting. But I'm not going to smoke, at least not today. I will get through today & tomorrow I will be happy that I didn't smoke. At midnight in 6 1/2 hrs will be the end of day 9 & start of day 10. But right now I really just need to get through this next hour!!

Welcome Kaylie and hubby!  Great idea to start this quit together - Good for you two : ) Welcome Cherie too - what a good,  positive start to your quit this time around - you have lots of motivation, some good ideas to help keep you on track and many cheers here at SSC to help keep your smile right side up while you chock up those stats as a non smoker from here on in!

Welcome Kaylie!!

Congrats to you & your husband for starting your smoke-free journey together!!  It is wonderful to have the support of your other half.  I recommend reading through the forums as much as you can and post often.  It's also great to have the support of people who have been smoke-free for longer as they can guide you through the rough patches.
Take your quit 1 moment and 1 day at a time.  Stick to NOPE:  Not One Puff EVER!  and stick to these forums.  Don't hesitate to ask questions, vent or celebrate your accomplishments!

Woohoooooooo!! Good for you & your husband  Going on 4 1/2 days right now. I think what's helping me most is to keep busy & not think about the quit. Every now and then a craving will come and I immediately start my deep breathing. Before I know it the cravings gone. I've also been drinking lots of water. Every now & then I get really excited about the idea of being a non smoker again & when my negative self talk starts, I just think about the positive feelings I have to look forward to.
You can do it!!

Good for you......skate on to a smoke free day. Arm yourself with knee and elbow pads, ice water, toothpicks and a helmet, of course, and knock down another day of freedom....and always be on the lookout for parked cars, man hole covers and the nicodemon. Roll on... Keep the quit, Dave
