Ron!!! Wow!  Thank you so much for popping in and for your great words of kindness and support.  I have missed that avatar!  I know we get busy with life and post less often here at SSC as time goes on - it is good to move forward with our life journey and goals - but it is so great to read such a nice post from a good friend that helped me get through so many of those hard early days. Thanks for thinking of my Dad too - I know he is proud of me : )  He wouldn't have it any other way!  And those 5 years Quit under your belt now doesn't look too bad either bud!  Good on ya! Good riddance to the cigs!  Life is completely better now; I must concur and agree!

Eyja,
So glad I saw this! I can't believe you are already on your 3rd year of being quit.   Like Penitent said I never doubted that you had a handle on the quitting thing, and the best about it all was you were so super to support others like me in the process.  I am super happy for you and all I can say is that it gets only better through the years.  You have not only made your Dad happy, but I think we all can come together and celebrate how great life can be without the ciggies. Hey I know those designer jeans and sandals are looking pretty "HOT " because you deserve the attention... bravo!  I'm standing by in awe:).... Cheers...Your Friend, Ron

Hi Lolly : ) Thanks so much for your response.  I love your great spirit and your International connection is awesome too.  I have to look up the translations when you and Josie get multilingual on here lol.  There is so much more joy in living life since I quit smoking and I see that concept shared here daily. Thanks for showing us how to achieve grace and wisdom in your long time quit.  I am doing my best to follow in your footsteps!  N'est-ce pas la grande vie?

Dear Eyja,

I don't know how I missed this...must be due to me being an 'oldie' Lol!

Congratulations on your two years.  It's a great achievement!    I agree about the new self-esteem and confidence a quit brings (among so many other amazing things!)

Love Lolly.

Thank you Pen!  It's always so nice to see you pop back to SSC with your encouragement!  Yup - I waffled a bit when I first joined this site, but as soon as I understood the rule of 'Not One Puff Ever', I found out I could stick to my quit plan and maintain it.   Seems like so much water under the bridge since I found SSC two years ago, but am amazed at how sharing this journey has gifted me an opportunity to earn back my own trust and self esteem!  It's so empowering to set an important life changing goal and find the confidence to follow through on it! Turns out the best part is that this confidence is contagious to the rest of life too! Who knew???  Thanks for being here : )

Congratulations Eyja - two years is a wonderful achievement!

Even with some stumbles at the start, I never doubted your ability to get this done!

Enjoy!
Best Wishes
Penitent

Many thanks to each of you for your kind words of support. I really appreciate each of your replies
Thanks Mach - for being King Kong Quitter and supporting me and many others here along the way
breather - It didn't occur to me that I have now been a non smoker for years!  Thanks for that perspective  - and the cake too
Samantha - Thank you! 2 years quit feels Great!  My best words of advice to new quitters is to stick to it and Never Take Another Puff!  Ever Ever Ever!  It gets easier to get through your trials as you live your life without using tobacco as a crutch to solve your pain or celebrate your achievements
Working On It - I'm amazed at what you've accomplished since your first 'rebel' days here at SSC!  I respect your honesty throughout your journey! I note that you've well surpassed me now in 'most helpful' posts too. Thank you! for taking time to offer your support here and for the 'congrats'
Sly - You are doing so well lately!  I believe you have a good handle on your own quit now too!  Thanks so much for your
Jim - Not sure what this site would be like without your positive attitude, great sense of humor and wealth of advice and support you bring to the table!  But am so glad you are here. I am proud of you too bud. I didn't do much painting of the town to celebrate, but I did get my own small business up and running in January! WooHoo!  It is doing well too!!   I never had the courage to make this happen back when I was a guilty SMOKER!  I've found much new unexpected strength in many aspects of my life since I promised my Dad I would quit smoking 2 years ago - just before he passed away. It has been amazing!
If anyone out there is browsing the site today and happens on this post I must warn you!!! If you join the SSC team and Never take Another Puff - your life will IMPROVE!~ Drastically! No Doubt Whatsoever !

Hey Eyja!!!

Huge congrats to you, buddy!!!  You've learned well and have rewarded yourself well... you made me proud!   I also hope you spent the weekend painting the town red in those hot jeans and red sandals!!!  That would make me even prouder!!!    Again, congratulations!!!

               CLINK!!!
