Hi Freethree ! Great outlook , Great Attitude ! You CAN do this ! May I suggest you keep plenty of ice water handy to help with the urges and to flush the toxins from your body. You may want to read Allan Carrs "Easyway to Quit Smoking" and find out all you can about nicotine addiction.

I wish you success and if you want to do this , really want to dump the cigarettes for good, its not that hard and you can definitely do it . Never take another puff and the battle is already won.

Let me see:

1. Yelled at the Mrs and Junior a couple of times and ofcourse apologized
2. Got on a bike with Junior and rode about 7 miles that helped take the stress out
3. Took a bunch of kids to a local water recreation center and a birthday party at a bowling alley

Crammed with a lot of activity so that I didnt have to think about that thing ( I have decided not to take its name anymore)

But in the end survived the weekend; although was exhausted by Sunday night. Spent a couple of hours on this site and another one that I frequent for "education on quit"

Thanks for the support folks.

Hey Freethree!!!

Welcome and congrats for making it through your first weekend smoke-free!!!  Hang tough today and you'll have Hell Week under your belt... serious accomplishment!!!  Keep on working through the Program and read and learn from your new quit buddies here on the Forums!  There is a wealth of information here that will definitely help you through some hard times.  This place can provide a distraction when those cravings hit, too!  I practically lived on this site the first couple of months learning how to defeat ol' nic!!!  You have the right idea about the motto... we've been saying it here for years!  Another one that I love is from Breather... I can't, WE CAN!!!  All I know is that if you want this quit more than anything else in the world, you WILL achieve the freedom you desire!

Hi freethree,

Glad to hear that you are quitting again. From what I've read, each attempt increases your chance at finally being successful. Here's to seeking support and making this the last one!

Nicotine free Friday and Saturday... yahoooooooooooo.
Remain strong today; would have conquered one small hill. Will be tired; exhausted but will be worth the "aha" moment end of the day after this round of fighting with the addiction.

As I was thinking I realize SSC must have a new motto:

You can do it..We can help

The forum certainly helps to keep the quit going.

Congrats on 72 hours!

You are almost through Hell Week - the first and most difficult week!

What have you learned from your past quit attempts? What will you be doing differently this time? Although you may feel frustrated looking back at your past quit history, know that each time you learned something. Apply your learnings now.

We will be here supporting you every step of the way!

Managed to be FREE for 72 hours. Stuck through the cravings, headaches, irritation.. now heading to the weekend. This will be interesting, excruciating. Have quit 6 times since December of 2011 with quit times ranging between 12 hours to 8 weeks but somehow go back to it . So this time I an actually gonna post to a forum to see if the quit can keep going. I cant beleive i quit for 3 years before i fell off the wagon.. Ah well the fight goes on..
