Thanks Bill, TM, and Eyja,

The description 'Inspiration' is a huge thing to live up to!  You should see me on a bad day!

I am humbled by that description, but I will continue to try to be upbeat, determined and positive both in my daily life and here on the boards.  It is the people on here who can help others to keep going, and make it through to the greatest reward there is.......
freedom from addiction to nicotine.

I will celebrate this honour by living as many days as I can in the above way, and rewarding myself daily with my freedom!

Love Lolly.

William - Free and Healing for One Year, Two Months, Six Days, 21 Hours and 59 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 52 Days and 17 Hours, by avoiding the use of 15187 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me $6,957.52.

Hello All,

Many thanks to Ron, Wendy, Cameless, Jim, Bob and Tired Mommy for the kind things you said.

To Tired Mommy in particular.....

Thank you for taking time out to write while you are in the most difficult part of your quit.  I just wanted you to know that my story did not end with my quit, and I have had to fight cancer since then.  I approached it in the same way as my quit...with sheer determination to win the war.  Right now I am in remission and still fighting.

Please stay here at SSC abd let everyone support you.   Remember you are quitting for YOU.  Do not pay too much attention to negative feedback at home, just stay focused on all the positive sides of quitting.  If you do it this time, you should avoid a second battle with cancer in years to come

Remain strong and determined to fight the battle as the prize is FREEDOM!

Whatever it takes to quit ...do it!

Lolly 2--I read your story yesterday, on my quit day, and is has really inspired me. I appreciate all of you ex-smokers who still log on and encourage us newbies. I have not had a lot of support at home on quitting so this site is really helping me right now! Congrats!

Well dear friend you have made the difference in the lives of many quitters who have graced the doors of the SSC.  I joined this site because of the support from good people like yourself.  A huge congratulations on your second award which is so very deserving.  I hope all is well with you and your family.  Love ya much.

Well, I nearly fell off my chair this morning when I saw my name!  I'm not sure it is well deserved, as I have not been as industrious on site as I was in the beginning, and my posts tend not to be so pointed as they once were.....maybe I've mellowed!

So much water has passed under the bridge since I made the decision to quit smoking for ever, and not only in my life, but in the lives of all of my friends here at SSC.  It still amazes me that we can all remain in contact with each other through one shared action...quitting.
It just shows how massive a decision it was in our lives.  We were emotionally tied to each other at that time and just the mention of a name from way back then triggers those responses once again.

I wonder if new quitters read these types of post about oldies.  Do they just dismiss the whole thing as sentimentality, or think that maybe we oldies, who remain, still need our ties to SSC for ourselves?   I think I can speak for many of us...we return time and again to help new quitters as we were helped in the past.

I knew that my quit in November 2004 would be make or break..... I made it with the help of everyone here at SSC.  My key ring still opens my front door every day.  It was in May 7 years ago that I first was honoured by the HOF.  Thank you once again for this second honour, and for my Freedom.

Love Lolly.
