Another case of pancreatic cancer in a smoker/ex smoker. We have heard of so many cases since we quit that we were wondering if smokers are predisposed to the condition. I guess we will never know for sure.
We clearly remember Marilyn from our early days here and are sorry to hear of her passing, very sad indeed.
Every time I pop in here for a visit, this site looks more and more beautiful.
I have some good news and I have some bad news.
The good news is my stats are here to inspire you all and I want you all to stay close to this site.
The bad news is that for all of the oldtimers here, I have to tell you that a very special member who used this site and has succeeded well at quitting smoking too, has passed away yesterday of pancreatic cancer. If you knew Marilyn, aka "Patches", you will remember her. I know that Tresa knew her, and Lolly, etc. All from that time period. She will be sadly missed.
Love to all of you and please enjoy your freedom from those cigarettes.
I really wish I had checked in sooner.. Wow! all the people are here that made sure I didn't smoke...It has brought tears to my my eyes...OMG,,,Mr. Ed....No smokin' Tresa... All of you are so wonderful...I also wish I had the time to name all of the people that were here for me....I am so sure that my life would be so different..I spend a lot of time singing...I couldn't do that without breathing or having a sore throat.. I owe the friends at SSC so much....Thank you...Thank you...
It was great to see some of the VERY old (+ 6 years) folks, and the not so old. All of us have done ourselves a favour and I hope that you all are enjoying your new freedom....as I am. Courage and strength to the new quitters and those thinking of quitting!
Wow Jazz, that's great on the 5km...and the 10km goal! I've been hiking a lot, something I know I never would have been doing if I hadn't quit. Life is grand, isn't it?
For those of you who want to take the plunge into the non smoking world in 2011, I say welcome and come on in. The air is grrrrrreat in here and you'll get some amazing support!
It's hard to believe I'm coming up on 4 years of freedom from addiction.
Thanks my friends for all your help along the way.
