Another idea that some members have had success with is to create a vision board. Vision boards include images, words, etc. of what you want your life to look like or about a certain goal you want to achieve. This board is then looked at and used as a meditation tool daily. It is in interesting idea and I thought your list of quotes would be great to include there!
My reasons for quitting are 1-for health, my mother, who was a smoker, had cancer and had a heart attack last year, so there are genetic risk factors 2-to save money and 3-I'm tired of being a slave-tired of feeling panicky and uncomfortable w/o cigarettes, I want my life back!!!!
To avoid a slip, whenever I have a craving, I'm going to pratice deep breathing, go for a walk, take a hot bath, write in my journal, log into the support group and i have also compiled a list of positive affirmations and motivational quotes that I will read!

Welcome to the group! You have come to the right place to find motivation and support! Congratulations on your first day!
Try not to be too hard on yourself for your past slip. Slips happen and it often takes a few tries before a quit sticks. The important thing is that you are back at it again! Other then the support group what will you be doing differently to prevent a slip?
I had quit smoking on October 27th, 2009, and started up again around the end of January. I'm a little disappointed because I was doing so well. It was my emotions that got the best of me, I was feeling irritated and down, and I started to have a smoke here and there, and next thing you know, I'm buying packs again.
Well, I still wanted to quit, but now I finally found the courage to quit again---this time for good!
I didn't use this community before, but now see there is a wealth of motivation and support in this community, so here I am!!!!
I actually smoked my last cigarette yesterday aroung 4 pm, but I put my quit date as today. So, I've passed my initial 12 hours, and feeling ok...a little irritable, a few cravings, but other than than...ok
I'm just reminding myself to take it one craving at a time!!
I'm also reading Allen Carr's "Easyway to Quit Smoking" and was wondering if anyone else has read it?
