I haven't been here in awhile because my panic has been mostly under control and I've been so busy with other things but I had to chime in here.
I start off sleeping in my bed. Most nights I end up sleeping in our 3 year old's bed because our 5 year old will crawl into bed with us, and snore. Then I can't sleep so I sleep with the 3 year old (she has a double bed but that's another story).
Anyway, if I wake in the night with an attack, I will usually sleep on the couch the rest of the night. My hubby is very understanding.
It is so strange that the couch helps. But for me, I think it is because my night panic attacks started shortly after my dh had to go to the ER in the middle of the night from complications from a surgery. I think my mind associates that with our bed or our old bedroom. We moved a few months ago and I haven't had to sleep on the couch since. (Although I think the Clonazapem helps with that too.)
