Dear Gina, The feeling in your throat is due to anxiety. Sometimes,I have a tightness in my throat. I can hardly swallow. I know it is due to a spasm in my throat. Also, I have a tightness in my chest and my sternum aches. It hurts just to touch it. It doesn't cause me to panic because I know it is due to anxiety. Just knowing why something hurts or aches aleviates much of the anxiety. I have discussed this with my dr. The good news is: I know I am not going to die. I do not have a fatal illness. The bad news: I have an anxiety disorder. I have accepted this fact and at peace with it, all things considered. You are too hard on yourself. You are a loving, concerned mother. The incident with your daughter would cause anyone to have an extra rush of adrenalin. As you "come to terms" with the symptoms of your disorder, you will acutally find freedom. The symptoms will control you less and less because you know what the disorder can or most importantly can not do to you. May God grant you His peace.

I get that same tingling in my throat when I am anxious. Its feels so weird and only happens before I panic. I always know an attack is on its way when it happens so atleast I have warning. Wonder why it happens?

The feeling you describe in your neck is similar, but I don't know if it is the same thing as me. I get a tingling/vibrating feeling that seems to come up mny throat. Does your feeling sound silmilar to this? At first it really really freaked me out, but it doesnt happen quite so often anymore after I got used to the fact that it was just stress.

Lauren, That was such a beautiful post to Gina, whenever I read one of your posts I feel like you are such a kind gentle soul, so good and pure and its a good feeling. I hope Gina is doing better all Moms do that when their kids get hurt. How are you doing? I have had a rough couple of days alot of panic then that depression and exhaustion that follow, I did have a good day Wednesday, no panic and I spent good quality time with my son, how I wish I could "bottle" those days. I hope things are well with you. Debbie.

Oh Gina, I think you are very normal. You are a mother, you are supposed to get worried like that. I am sure your daughter thought to herself,"Wow, mom really is worried about me when I get hurt." I don't think she thought anything else of it. Also, we will never get sick of your posts!!! We understand all too well. Right before I panick, I get a tingle in the back of my throat and behind my neck. I am sure its okay. Hope you are doing well. I hope this doesn't set you back. I really don't think anyone is at square one here. We are helping ourselves and that is all we can do. Feel better.

Oh Gina, I wish we could just hug each other! Is your little one alright? Are you alright? All us Moms are like that I have freaked and so has every other Mom. The tingling is stress you are intuned to it. I know Hon I feel like I am back at sqaure one myself, every bone in my body hurts, I am panciking then totally exhausted, feel like I am getting a cold, low iron etc... You do NOT need to commit yourself, you are not a danger to yourself or others, they do not commit people with panic and anxiety I have been told that, just the fact you are concerned about your little one tells me you are alright, you are functioning, you are working, you are trying and you are going on. You and I are both going through such a bad time right now, I even had some chest pains today, which I never get, and this burining in my lower tummy is scaring me to death, I was even afraid to take a nap before for fear I would not wake up. So see you are functioning better than me, do not commit yourself, they would not do it not for panic and fear, I have had that thought myself, so I know what you feel. Write me back and let me know how you are. Prayers for both of us. Debbie.
