You are doing great!!! Congrats on 14 days! That is a major accomplishment! It will get easier the longer you go without smoking. The thing that kept me going the first few months was the thought that if I ever smoke another cig I will have to start all over again. Those first few weeks are really bad and I NEVER want to do them again... The only way to keep from it is to keep from lighting up.
You are really going to enjoy your vacation... you are going to have more time to do fun things! AND you will feel better! Keep up the great quit!

I'll make a side comment on Ashley's question.. short term right now... hopefully the doctor doesn't yell at me like she did a few weeks ago about the smoking, and if the appointment went good, I will start seeing the benefits. If it doesn't go well... might be a little harder, but smoking will make things worse, so I will still get through it. Looking forward to breathing better, and enjoying my vacation in a couple months without having to look for a spot to have a smoke. Hint: You'll hear about my vacation when I reach the 50 day quit mark! My Milage:

You have an awesome mindset buggerdb! It sounds like you are doing a really good job "handling it the best you can." What are the positives you are going to get from this quit? I want to hear from you why quitting is so important to you. Others, also, what are your personal reasons for quitting?
Hey BDB, I remember always having a letdown after some milestone like hell week, heck week, and others down the road. It's one of those things where you think it's easy to quit and then it starts getting a little difficult. What to do is let it pass without getting too angry about it. Believe me you will feel better if you hold out and don't let it get to you. We all had some days that were a little challenging but it will lighten up a bit. Just take it one day at a time and don't let the nicodemon win the argument, he's won too many times...

Back, and can reply more. Definately 3 tough days, and ran the full tilt of emotions. Getting through anger, stress, depression with an idea that it is ok for now to feel this way. Everything is magnified a bit, but I am trying to handle the best I can. Each time the nicodemon tells me a smoke would help, but the louder voice is saying that smoking will do nothing for it, and it is just a temporary fix. Character building days, but I can sure use a break from this for at least a day!
Just a note that I do go to the convience store everyday for my coffee. I love my coffee in the AM. This is the same place I got smokes all the time. Not tempted to get them in the least! Whoever thought of hiding cigarettes behind a wall in Canada is a genius!

Cravings were about the same today, a worse day. Work is getting rough, but still have most there rooting for me to quit. But, just checking in with another smoke-free day. Will say some more later... have to run for a bit. Just got home from work and more chores to do!
