You're right. Of course it will pass. Detachment is exactly what I need to do..... acceptance and detachment.

I'm heading out the door for work. Blissfully I can put my focus on others for awhile.

I remembered after I would reach a certain milestone I'd have a little time of transition afterwords where I felt a little setback. I would remember coming on here saying how great it is to be quit after my 2 weeks were over and then have a let down the following days. It happened at 30 days and I think I'm going through one right now. I don't know if it's just building up of being on guard dealing without the cigs and then when you reach a certain time you just kind of crash. Anyway the good news is it seems to always get better after a period of time, so just detach and don't worry about it and you will be fine soon.

I had a great night's sleep and I still feel crummy. It was comforting to read your post Marivi (actually, everyone's posts were comforting) because I'm in week 3. I usually feel pretty competent, but in the last 3 days I've done some really "blond" things. I'm having trouble maintaining concentration, I'm forgetful to the point of dysfunction, and the latest is the symptom of sadness.

Thanks for the hug bob....... always welcome those.

And thank you everyone for hanging out with me when I feel rotten.

I don't know what to write. I'm sitting here starting at the screen-- not wanting to log off, feeling like there's more to say, but not really able to move..... I hope this passes I hope this passes I hope this passes.

Deb, you are doing great. You are becoming more emotional as you drill down to the root of eradicating the beast demon from your body. Do let your emotions flow. I tried to keep mine bottled too long. Then when my emotions broke, they were sharper and tended to hurt other feelings as I lashed out. A good cry is a powerful release!

Congratulations on your efforts. Enjoy the journey. You are getting to know yourself again as you take control of your destiny rather than being the victim.

Hey Deb! Sometimes a good cry is just what the Doctor ordered. It can be so cleansing and de-stressing.

I still think about how much we drowned our emotions in the smoke, when we were upset, smoke, when we were excited smoke, when we were stressed, smoke smoke! It takes some time to learn new ways to deal those emotions, with out the smoke, ( I am still working on that!) but it feels so great to be able to breathe without the smoke!

Rock hit the nail on the head, quitting is a battle and we need to release the tension once in a while and have a good laugh or a good cry, or sometimes both! Let loose girl! We don't mind at all!

Hi Deb!

The license incident was just an excuse to let your real feelings go. I think that if you need to cry, do it; if you need to yell.,do it. This is a nasty addiction and the quitting process is a challenging one.

We lost our crutch, and now our feelings emerge without hesitation. But it's part of our mind and body healing process. I have never been depressed in my life, until week three of my quit. My heart ached, I felt a profound sadness. But this is a temporary state of mind.

Congratulate yourself for staying smoke free. You are a star!

No, crying isn't bad.... it just doesn't feel all that great. It's still clinging on me a bit. I took your advice Sara and had a bath, and I'm going to bed really early with a book.

Rock, you are so wonderful. You are always around and here to help. I really want you to know how amazing that is. How amazing you are.

And I am just really off today. I found my patches in the freezer this evening.... so I think a good night's sleep is in order and I will try again tomorrow. Maybe my license is in there somewhere too. Maybe I planted it with the Camellia.... hard to say at this point, but really hoping this fog lifts soon. It's dreary.

Deb, you know, sometimes a good cry isn't a bad thing. Quitting an addiction is tough. Its one of the toughest things most of us will do in our lives. This addiction has taken over us for many years. You are fighting the addiction, and you are winning! The good thing is you didn't smoke, you didn't give in. Whether it is crying, or screaming at a biscotti jar, or venting here at SSC, whatever emotion comes out, I think thats a good thing. Sometimes we're afraid to show emotion. And in the big picture, would smoking have helped you find your license? Like you said, you used to try to smoke away your feelings in the past. I hope you found your license! Thanks for checking in!

I think you are absolutely correct in identifying those feelings as just having been built up for awhile. Everyone could use a good cry now and again right? You can get through this deb!

Take some time for yourself tonight to do something you enjoy. Be it relaxing with a good book or a hot shower. Maybe even treat yourself?
