Thanks everyone for taking the time to give me your input on this one.
It seems my ex is getting weaker and can no longer eat solids, though I'm not sure if it's because of the cancer or the treatments. My son called my daughter this week to say that he has real concerns about the weight loss and feels he needs some help with making his Dad more comforatable (they live together but my son has to work more than full time). My daughter is going up to spend the coming weekend with them. She is going to decide if she needs to drop out of school to help them out (she lives 5 hours from them). I admire her determination to be there for her Dad.
Breanne, I'd love to hear more from Faryal. As you know I'm a firm believer in knowledge replacing fear and in this case I'm fearful.
Deborah, you're right...none of us knows how we'd react in a situation like this. I do struggle with this because it's such a waste of life. My children are struggling as well but I'm so proud of them for doing what they can for their Dad. He's very ill.
Lolly...my shining star in all of this has been you. You give me more strength with your positive spirit than you'll ever know. Feel well and be joyus brave warrior.
Freespirit, I'm relieved to know of anyone who's even heard of someone cured from cancer the naturopathy way. There are no guarantees anywhere in life but you bring me some glimmer of hope. I have to be realisic as well, but holding on to hope makes it easier to have some balance in all this while trying to be supportive for my kids and awaiting the outcome. I'm praying for a miracle to happen. You should know I'll never smoke again Laurie...there isn't anything that could ever force me or entice me...I've come way too far for smoking to ever be an option for me again. I'm a non smoker.
Thanks again for listening everyone.
Pat
