Marivi -- welcome.  You, too, have made a sound choice to choose life.  I am no pro at this, but immerse yourself in this site and you will pass time, improve your attitude and receive meaningful support from individuals who know EXACTLY what you are going through because we, too, are living it.

If you ever need a laugh (or are struggling to fall asleep) check out my blogs.  These and other forums are places where you can vent, share and celebrate.

Enjoy the rest of Hell Week.  May it be the first week of a lifetime of tobacco-free weeks!!!!

Dave

marivi,

Welcome to the boards and congratulations on making the decision to become a non-smoker! Have you started to read through the other resources available on the site? Many members report these helpful during their quit.

It is so good to hear that you feel different about your quit this time. It has been mentioned over and over, but preparation is key to your success as a non-smoker.

Keep us posted on your quit and good luck!

THank you for your warm welcome; I find this site really distracting and relaxing; I charge my soul with positive energy; I also have one favorite thought to fight the nicodemon: I  imagine myself playing golf againsdt Annika and Lorena and winning in the 18th by one put!!!!! (LOL).

Thanks for everything!

Marivi, the golf nut

Marivi, what a great day 1.23.09 is!  Congratulations on reaching 5 days smoke free.  You are on your way to being a non-smoker!  I'm so glad you prepared yourself for this.  Continue to read as much as you need to continue along smoke free!  Post as often as you need.  Ask Mr Ed to add your stats to his daily lists so you can see "your name in lights" when you reach milestones.  Simply reply to one of his daily lists.  We love cheering fellow non-smokers on!  Two more days until you finish Hell Week!  We're all rooting for your continued success!

Hey Marivi!!!

Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on your 5 days!!!  It sounds like you have a Positive Mental Attitude and have prepared yourself well!!!  I did the same thing almost 11 months ago and have never looked back!!!  I'm glad that you have taken the time to go through the program and read some posts!

I was on this site reading and posting a lot in the beginning of my quit and I found that being distracted here helped to keep my mind off wanting to have a cigarette!!  This really helped to reduce my cravings just as much as the Chantix did!!  So, stick close and post when you need us!!!

I quit on jan 23,2009 after attending an allen carr seminar. I prepared myself to quit , taking Chantix the week before. My firs two days were energy drained, I stayed in bed most of the time. (Thank God I quit on Friday). I felt strange; I'm a really energetic person and that wasn't me.
I'm quitting because I don't want to be a slave anymore; I want to be a non-smoker, and not an ex=smoker; The seminar helped me to see cigarrettes as they are; they are not a solution, they are the main problem in my life.
I  have tried to quit several times, one with patches and one with Wellbutrin, but my longest quit lasted three days, but this
time I feel different and I  prepared myself.
I found this wonderful site and I didn't want to post until I passed my three days milestone, so here I am.. I've enjoyed reading the posts since my first day.
Greetings
Marivi
