Lola, please complain as long as you need!  As you can see, you've received tons of advice because, believe it or not, we've all experienced what you experienced yesterday!  I like the idea of pampering yourself.  Your body is healing, so treat yourself good!  Maybe a nice bubble bath today?  Glad you can say N.O.P.E.!!!

Thank you Everyone,
I feel much better today. I'm still thinking about moving jobs. Have been for a long time. I didn't smoke so thats the main thing. Took the patch off before I went to bed and got a better sleep. Did'nt even want a cig this morn. I don't like feeling like that but I got through it. I know it is not the other person its emotions that are inside me. It just takes a small thing to trigger it and because I'm insecure and don't have my crutch it goes deep.
Thanks for all being there and I'm sorry to complain, but I want more than anything else a new healthy life without cigarettes. Just feel a bit mad at times.
Luv lola

Lola - hang in there girl.  You can do this.  Don't give up and don't give in!  Not smoking and not sleeping can really make a person quite crazy.  Walk outside in the crisp clean air and take a deep breath.  Remember that this will all pass and whatever that person said is not what is important in life.  What's important, at this moment, is you making your life better, longer and happier.  Smoking takes that dream away from you.  You are surviving and you will come out stronger on the other side.  You expressed before that you haven't wanted to get out of bed.  Please go see your doctor if you worsen.  It can't hurt, it can only help.  Maybe they can recommend other methods or ways to help.  You don't want to let something not associated with your quit go undetected.  Take care of yourself.
Rooting for you!
Angie

lola,
We've all been through those rough patches.  The down feeling, the mood sensitivities, and just wanting to pack the whole lot in!   The good news in all of this?  Its TEMPORARY.  It doesn't last, promise.
There are certain times in the quit when many of us have faced these trying times.  And funnily enough they all seem to happen at certain spots in the quit.  And if I recall, the 3 week mark was one of them.  Ride this out...smiles are just around the corner.  You'll probably feel just a wee bit better tomorrow.
Glad you posted!  You'll find that really helps too.

Hang in there, lola!!!!

I hear you loud and clear!  I am willing to bet that tomorrow will be better, there are some ups and downs to be sure.  I also took the patch off at night and found it helped a lot.  Keep up the good work, you are doing it!!!!    Jo

lola,

I am sorry to hear you have had a rough day.

However by the sounds of it, you were able to get through another day smoke-free! This is something you should be proud of!

Please remember sleeping disturbances are not only common but temporary! Here are a few tips to help you get back into a regular sleep schedule:

•Try to get on a sleep schedule. Go to bed at a regular time each night and get up at a regular time in the morning. Try to not stay up late watching TV and try not to sleep during the day. If you get on a sleep schedule, we guarantee that you’ll begin to feel better.
•Try to make the room you sleep in as quiet as possible. Consider ear plugs or a sleep mask.
•Use your bed only for sleeping. Don’t lounge around in your bed. If you spend too much time lounging in bed, watching T.V., drinking coffee, or eating, your body will learn that your bed is NOT a place for sleeping.
•If you can’t sleep after half an hour in bed don’t stay in bed trying to sleep. Get up and do some quiet activity. For example, read a book for a half hour and then try going back to bed. If you still can’t sleep, get up and do something quiet once again.
•Try to keep your bedroom at a comfortable temperature - not too cold and not too hot.
•Try to get some exercise every day. You’ll feel better and sleep will come much quicker.
•Try not to exercise or work hard late in the evening. It could make you feel ‘wired’.
•Don’t drink anything with caffeine or alcohol for 4 hours before you go to bed.
•Try not to eat a heavy meal in the evening. Don’t eat just before you go to bed.
•If you’re not sleeping at night, avoid naps during the day.
•Use relaxation techniques. Box breathing may help you relax at bed time.

Members, any other advice for lola for those rough days?

Hello Lola Yes , sometimes we do have horrible days. Sometimes we just have horrible moments if we choose not to let things bother us. Somebody said something to you and it ruined your whole day ? How much did this person pay you to carry them around with you all day ? It's the small things that will send us back smoking if we let them. This person probably doesn't even realise that they said anything wrong. If you carry it with you , you own it. I saw a coffee mug once that had printed on it " SNAP OUT OF IT " This can be your quest !!! Try and find a cup that says " SNAP OUT OF IT " It is this type of thing that we laugh at on better days. Find a good reward for yourself and try to wind down. Don't quit your job and don't smoke. You've made it 17 days which is amazing. And remember H.A.L.T. Put a " NO SMOKING " sign in view where you can see it before you go to sleep that way you'll know you're not allowed to smoke in your dream. It might be a smoking dream but you won't have to feel guilty because you didn't smoke. Works for me. Take care breather 77 Addict 0

Lola, sorry to hear you had a bad day.  I'm glad you know that smoking wouldn't have made things any better.  Have you read all of the postings about patches recently?  Some folks here have been either cutting them in half or going down in strength.  Check out those posts as you may find some helpful information there.  You've smoked for a long time, your body hasn't any nicotine in it for 17 days.  Its now the nicodemon trying to pull you back.  Look how wonderful your stats are!  I bet you smell wonderful!  I bet your clothes smell wonderful!  I bet you have more energy!  I bet coworkers are noticing that you are a non smoker now!  Sleeping is a good thing!   Things will get better.  We're all here rooting for your success!

Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry to sound depressing, but I've had a terrible day. Nothing really bad happened but I just felt awful.
I've not been sleeping properly and someone at work said something really minor and I took it to heart and couldn't stop thinking about it all day. I wanted to quit my job because of it.
I feel like I'm losing the plot a bit. I don't know whether I'm coming or going. Was really upset tonight and feel quite low, but I haven't had a cigarette and don't want one.
I really need to get a good sleep, so I am taking the patch off before I go to bed.
I keep having smoking dreams as well and when I wake up I feel like I want one, but just say no I'm not having one. I want to feel better, but don't want to smoke. Need support.
Luv lola
