Hi Lori,  how old are the kids?   can you use a time out chair or pop a movie in?  If they are old enough you may try talking to them.   set up charts for chores, daily normal activities.. you can draw stars or get them most department or office stores.

Plan a night of popcorn and movies for a reward, ..  It is hard to turn off a trigger or get away from it.. if they r your kids.

I used iced water, ice chips, frozen juice bars.  Don't think of it as "giving up" cigarettes.  Think  I AM taking back control of my own life and health.  Cigarettes never "gave me anything good"  Smoking is a choice.. and i choose NO

there is a Free on line book you can down load  Allen Carr's book it is Not perfect,, but there is a lot of helpulf information and different ways of looking at thinngs.  I found it quite helpful . and I also used Chantix.

Hi, my name is LoriA, I am smoke free for 3 days now.  I am using Chantix and today I had my first hour long panic attack/craving to go smoke.  I knew before quitting that my kids were one of my biggest triggers.  They start to fight and make alot of noise and I have to leave the area.  I planned on making my time out room in my den, but while my husband and I were moving book cases down to the basement and I ended up hyperextending and rolling my ankle, so now I am laid up with no escape from all of the whiney, snotty, fighting kids.

I am hoping that this site can provide me with some support from other people that I can perhaps forge some bonds with during this difficult time.  I am on and off the computer all day, so I hope someone responds.  I will check in later.  Nice to emeet everyone.
