I choose life, It sounds like you know that you don't want to smoke. You've listed some great benefits of not smoking, now it's time to put your doubts behind you and start focusing on the future and your life as a non smoker. You can do it, we believe in you! Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

well i hope things will get better for you. you had a small relapse, it is normal, after all rome wasnt built in one day... is there anything you are currently taking to help take the edge off??? if not, maybe you should look into it. it would be better to have nicotine gum or lozenges than starting smoking again. One thing that i admire that you did, is that when u bought a pack, you threw it away... that must have been tough, that was a big thing for you, i mean you could have said to yourself, "well i will just finish that pack, and then i will stop again." but u didnt do that, so congrats on that. i dont know if this help or if it makes sense but hope it help a bit. I Choose Life, I'm really glad you posted this. I've been EXACTLY where you are right now. The junkie really wants to take over. DON'T let him. You've worked very hard to get where you are. And know that all these hard times we experience will eventually pass. We're all just one cigarette away from being a smoker again. I am an addict as well. I will always be an addict. Do what you have to do to get through this. Scream, shout, eat, walk, sleep...etc. Just don't smoke. You'll feel worse if you start smoking again. THIS TOO, SHALL PASS, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/27/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 72 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,800 Amount Saved: $612.00 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 6 Mins: 30 Seconds: 26

Hey guys, I was doing so well but I'm so close to being back to a fully fledged smoker again. I was out on friday and I hadn't thought of cigs for a long time and stupidly did the thing of I can take it or leave it and I smoked. I was fine the next day and a few days after that, then I got stressed and immediately thought of a cig and told myself that it would be ok, I could lean on the crutch to get me through and then just leave it again. Wrong. Serious cravings this morning and bought a pack, smoked but threw them away. I'm in limbo. If I smoke again, I know I'll be back to smoking constantly. I've been so busy the last few weeks in the new job and things were starting to get on top of me. I'm stumbling down the hill but I want to pick myself up and start climbing out of this pit I'm finding myself in. My big thing is that my quit date is significant to me and thats all thats stopping me becoming a fully fledged smoker again cos I know if this goes on I'll have completely relapsed and have to put myself back to the beginning. I don't want to do that so please help me get my feet on the ground again. My family and friends are no use, they think that I can take it or leave it cos its been so long but I know that it was only junkie talk. I've lost the adrenalin motivation that I had at the beginning and the thing is that I was so happy not to be smoking and I was saving a fortune and had loads more energy than when I was a smoker. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I can't trust myself at the moment. I'm an addict.
