Hi, Welcome to the SSC, The first day is a goody...there is never a good time to quit except NOW. Sorry about your brother. I wish him a speedy recovery. You will be so proud of yourself in so many different ways that I can not express them all in one post. I didn't like the fact that I had to quit to breath. I felt sorry for me and I cryed alot. I listened to the good folks here on this site and one day at a time I have been smoke free for almost 9 months (will be on the 4th). I can't began to tell you how much I have gained while I thought I was loosing something. It is an addiction and the sooner you admit that to yourself the easier it is to fight it. A positive attitude is a must. I suggest you drink lots of cold water, cleanse the body. Exercise helps, smoking is not an option. Repeat it to yourself. Smoking is not an option.
