I have had lots of health improvements especially with my sinus. I always had acid reflux and had surgery for it a few years ago, so it wasn't bothering me anymore. Just think, I could have quit smoking and fixed it probably instead of being sliced open. Oh well. I feel a lot better with headaches and dry eyes too. I have given myself some new emotional problems, but give and take I guess. Glad your feeling better...both you and Jim!

Hey Peace!!
One thing that I am NOT missing is the middle of the night acid reflux/indigestion problem I was having!!! When I was taking the Chantix, it seemed to compound the problem. Now that I am off the Chantix AND the smokes, the acid belly problem has pretty much disappeared!!! Mr. Thankful here!!!
My brother in law just up and quit last year, cold turkey. We asked what his motivation/reason for just that was, but he seemed hesitant to give up the info. Finally, at Christmas, he said that he was having some major problems with acid reflux at night and his doctor recommended that he quit smoking. Wa Laaa, he was cured!!!
I think that I am too!!! Sure is a great day to be a non-smoker!!!
Jim

I'm 23 days smoke free and for the last 21 days in a row I have NO had
one headache ! :) Before I stopped smoking I was experiencing atleast
one headache every 2-3 days.. had it checked out with the doctor and
we both came to the same conclusion that it's probably stress related
as I live in a very high stress environment. Was also checked for
allergies etc.
Anyway.. I just had a visit with my dr. and I told him about the no
headaches and he said in all likelihood it was the smoking. The
chemicals etc attaching themselves to the membranes of my sinuses built up and caused these headaches.
Well there you go.. One more wonderful benefit of NOT SMOKING ! :)
Anyone else out there experience similar health benefits of quitting - especially ones which caused pain on an ongoing basis?
Peace :p
