Well. Day 1 is about over and it has been amazingly --scaringly? -- easy! Spouse tells me it wasn't so bad because of all the practice I've had! True dat.
Thanks for asking! I'm happy, not depressed; VERY relaxed, not climbing the walls; totally psyched about another smoke-free day ahead of me tomorrow instead of wondering where, how, and when I can cheat.
Yeah, so maybe the very first hit of the very first cigarette after a long while tastes and feels pretty good, but by the third hit, it's downhill from there, no?
We all know they get nasty before the first one is gone, and the smell is just horrible.
I sure remember (with fondness) the buzz of the first one, but I also remember the self loathing that comes with number two. I am feeling SO done with all that.
Thanks, everybody -- I'm really looking forward to getting to know you better. (And oui, Marcus, I'll bet you're really fantastic. I thought all French people thought they were fantastic.)
