No, it hasn't always been easy, but it's been easIER than it would have been had I not done two things; first, it made a huge difference that I came here to SSC and involved myself in this support group. Second, I attached no conditions to my quit. I quit... period. And however uncomfortable or painful that has been... I would rather accept the pain of quitting than the pain of smoking.
