Shallow Breathing & Yawning

21 years ago 0 132 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi everybody, When I start to panic my 1st symptom (usually)is shortness of breath. I'm taking air in but it feels like it's not enough & I begin to yawn almost constantly to just get a deep breath. About 1 in every 10 breaths seem deep & beneficial but then I just start over yawning again to try & get what I call a "cleansing breath" Here's my thing, I've tried "deep breathing exercises" & "abdominal breathing" but I can't seem to do it. I just breath really shallow. Even when practicing (when not anxious) I still can't breath really deep. I'm convinced that if I can learn to breath deeper I will have a bigger chance of talking myself out of attacks, since that's my 1st symptom. Any advice???????? Thanks, Chanda
