Thanks Den..your right, I listen to my mother in law breathe and it is really scary. I know she means well most of the time, but your right, my hubby usually doesn't repeat to me the junk that comes out of her mouth. The one good thing I have been doing without my family knowing is that everyday I set aside the cig money I would have spent and hid it. We will have a lot of extra money for that vacation...they can spend it on 5.00 per pack cigs, I am going to have fun. Thanks Den and Jan!! Oh thanks goodness somebody replied to me, I am always worried about failure. I do have a lot of co workers that have been quit for many years and would never go back. My big worry is that March 1 we do the annual trip with the inlaws to Florida, which is awesome to get out of the cold, but 14 of us stay in one house..and pretty much argue. I would smoke my way through that vacation every year. I have been trying to come up with other strategies. I will hang with the kids by the pool while the rest of them smoke and drink themselves to death I guess...boy I am crabby for a Friday night.!! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,710 Amount Saved: $213.75 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 16 Mins: 53 Seconds: 45

DO NOT GIVE IN OR GIVE UP!!!! My boyfriends family sounds much like that. Do not let them win, do not listen to them. You are stronger and better than that. My life has been great for about one month or so, i mean every day, every minute. One reason for that is i have gotten rid of toxic people in my life. One toxic friend and my boyfriends family. They life out of town and when he talks to them (he doesn't care for them either) he knows that i don't need to hear about them. It is self care. The other toxic thing i got rid of was the cigarettes. No toxidity in my life. Makes me much more relaxed and happier. Self care first - you are the most important. Anxious, Don't let your in-laws take the good out of all you've done! Quitting smoking is a difficult thing no doubt, but you've done it, and you should be proud of yourself. Don't think about what they said, and don't ponder on it. Most of all, DON'T doubt yourself. You did the right thing. Don't give the nicodemon a small opening in that window of doubt. Stick to your guns girl!!!! Keep going strong, Cheers, Jan :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/27/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 125 Amount Saved: $42.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 50 Seconds: 30

So, you all have been making me feel so good today after I posted about the heck my hubby was giving me..now get this. I just find out that my father in law who quit for a year and a half has been closet smoking for the last month. ( He was an inspiration to quit) that was quit a downer, I thought, what if I do that too?) I worry about everything. So, I come and read these wonderful posts from the long time quitters and realize, not everybody does that. Here is the best part. My mother in law who has been lying to everybody except me about her being quit says..."You really should just start smoking, it makes you feel better, you won't be depressed or upset anymore." What? I hate enough guts to say...smoking makes you feel better? Have you heard your short breathing you have lately? Anybody else run up against being afraid they will slip or have retarded inlaws? My side of the family of the family, nobody smokes, my grandpa used to but is a chewer now and he's 93. Everybody on my hubbys side smokes. I am rambling. I just get so upset with stupid talk like that...all my junkie thoughts need is permission from somebody to smoke...makes you feel better..how stupid. I am venting and ruining the weekend. Sorry. AAAAHHHHHHH!! Have a good weekend to all!! My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,710 Amount Saved: $213.75 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 16 Mins: 49 Seconds: 22
