Sharing my error

Thank you, Patti for sharing that. It brought tears to my eyes. I can see my own son doing the same thing. Gouging my furniture and posting up all those "NOPE" notes! Good for you on your 12 days! But, I say the boy should get a reward! And what better reward than a smoke-free Mom? ;) G My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 177 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,310 Amount Saved: $849.60 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 6 Mins: 45 Seconds: 41

Hey Patti I'm glad you have such a good kid on your side. This should also show you that if you have ciggs on you, it's not if you smoke them but when you smoke them. Gotta love the emotional honesty of 13 year olds. I'm so happy that the little gouger let you know what is important to him :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 297 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,880 Amount Saved: $2,019.60 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 23 Mins: 16 Seconds: 1

I screwed up this week. I didn't have a great day at work, and that evening I watched tv while my 13 yo son was on my computer. About 10 I came into my office and discovered he had gouged out part of the arm of my office chair (it's really small, but it's there). I blew up at him. Destroying my office furniture (there's scratches on my desk from before too), not cleaning his room... yada yada yada. I was really pissed and ran to my coat to grab one of the 3 cigs I had left in there and lit it up. He came into my office saying NOOOOO and I shooed him out. After a couple of horrid tasting puffs, I went to bed. The next morning I got up, made my tea, and came into my office where I was blown away. It was like something out of a movie where the woman is surprised by a room filled with roses. Scattered across my huge desk, on my chair and stuck to my monitor - every surface there is in here - were pages of paper with (written all over it in different sizes and shapes and directions) the word NOPE. It was overwhelming and I just stood there in awe crying about just how much this 13 year old kid got it and that he took the time to do all this. When I woke him up he said "try finding your cigs now!" I promised never to do that to him again and that I would deal with the cravings in other ways. Now I come back here and read read read.. and I still have all those notes.. they're right by my side to look at and read My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 300 Amount Saved: $102.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 11 Mins: 41 Seconds: 56
