I used the patch through the whole programme. Some people prefer cold turkey, but I just knew it had to be 1) patch or 2) homocide!
You are already doing the really tough part of the withdrawal right now (Day 5 is often the worst). When you come to step down, yes, you will notice the difference for a couple of days, but it is nothing like what you are experiencing now. Don't worry about what happens in 10 weeks time - you will be an experienced quitter by then, and take it in your stride.
Just keep fighting through week 1, and make sure you have a reward for each day, and a really special one for week 1.
